I would rate Sling TV 9.4 out of 10 because it is one of the most economical options available in the market. In addition, sling TV lets you watch TV wherever you are with added perks like DVR Plus, Channel Add-ons, Premiums Add-ons, and many more.
Apart from its attractive features, it also provides viewers, irresistible offers. For example, you will get $25 off on your Sling TV price on your first month of subscription. However, my personal favorite is the one where you get an AirTV Mini streaming device worth $79.99 after prepaying two months of Sling TV cost.
Another thing I must mention as part of the Sling TV review is its user interface. Although you will get to experience a high streaming quality, the user interface of Sling TV has much scope for improvement.
Sling TV that made its debut in 2016, is the first live streaming television service providing on-demand content over the internet. Sling Tv is still standing as one of the most affordable options in the present live streaming services market which is packed up with competitors.
Even after the Sling TV cost recently bumped up from $30 to $35 a month (for Sling Blue and Sling Orange), it is still considered to be a winning deal by most cord-cutters. With the Orange & Blue package, you also get a discount of $15 at the Sling TV cost.
The Sling TV packages come with different plans and add-ons-
Number of Channels - 43 Channels
Price - $35/month
No of Channels - 32 Channels
Price - $50/month
No of Channels - 51 Channels
The Sling Blue plan comes with better news and entertainment channels. And if you are a sports lover like me, Sling Orange is the option for you. With access to ESPN and other professional and college sports channels, Sling Orange has an almost perfect sports channel lineup.
Although you can use this division as guidance, the line between the two packages is somewhat blurred. Because Sling Blue has sports channels like Fox Sports and with Sling Orange, you will get news channels like CNN.
Apart from these channels, Sling TV packages also come with a decent library of on-demand content.
Sling Tv offers DVR Free and DVR Plus options. With DVR free, you will be able to record 50 hours of content. And if you purchase DVR Plus for $5 a month, you will be able to record 200 hours of content.
But you will only access the ability to protect your recorded content from getting erased automatically with a DVR Plus subscription.
You can record the content of every channel with Sling TV’s DVR functionality except for a few channels like Local Now, ESPN3, ACC Network Extra, and SEC Network+.
The number of simultaneous streams on Sling Tv varies based on the kind of Sling TV packages you opt for-
Sling TV packages will give you access to a library of on-demand content.
Sling Tv is Compatible with almost all types of devices like-
Unlike most of its competitors, you can not access a free trial of Sling TV. However, you can access Sling Free anytime to watch a number of tv shows and movies for absolutely free. Needless to say the content library of Sling free is much less than what you will get as a subscriber of Sling Tv packages.
When compared to its competitors, Sling TV plans has a limited number of channels.
You can now customize your channel lineup with Sling Tv add-ons. Sling TV packages provide you with several options like Sports Extra, Hollywood Extra, Comedy Extra, The Best of Spanish TV, and many more with an additional expense of $5 or $10 per month.
Our analysis shows that none of its competitors will provide you with this many options to customize your channel lineup.
Now let’s have a look at the channels you won’t get with the Sling Tv packages-
If your choice of channels is lessor-focused and you only care about some specific channels without breaking off your monthly budget, Sling TV is the perfect option for you.
You can choose one of the base Sling Tv packages as per your channel preferences. But if you have a family with multiple members of contrasting tastes, Sling tv might not be the right option for you.
